sharenobody knows?
shareOh! I know this! It's his nickname from his sister (i think) and then I guess his fellow actors in LOTR started calling him it. I LOVE the extended ROTK with Billy and Dom calling him that, it's SO hilarious!
Go 2007 World Series Champions Boston Red Sox!
yea that was pretty funny
shareI never noticed that Dom & Billy called David "Daisy" in The commertary of ROTK.Time to go watch it!!

David and Daisy sound kind of similar.
Its *not* from LOTR, its from before LOTR, melbourne.
I overheard a fellow cast member in the stage production of Cyrano De Bergerac (where Daisy was Cyrano complete with giant nose) call him said name.
Apparantly, Dom Monahagn wants everyone to go up to him in the street and say "hey Daisy can I have your autograph" *grins*
in an interview he explained that his younger sister used to call him dais (or daze however you wanna spell it) for short. at the LotR set either billy or dom added a -y and people called him daisy ever since.
shareThe nickname is definately from before LOTR. I think Don Monaghan says on one of the commentaries that he heard Miranda Otto (who had worked with David in theatre prior to LOTR) calling him Daisy and then the rest of the cast caught on. Also, in a recent interview on Enough Rope with Andrew Denton, William McInnes called David "Daisy", having worked with him on Seachange years before David played Faramir.
Although I would LOVE to go up to him on the street and cheekily call him Daisy.
