I still can't believe he was Carl in Van Helsing

He plays such a wussy character, except when he saves that one girl and wants sex as his thank you...that is pretty manly but the voice he makes and how weak he looks. Seeing him in LOTR and 300, he could have easly played Jackmens character. I don't mean any disrespect to Hugh though, he's one of my favorite actors, who doesn't think Wolverine rocks?!

You're not alone on this. I still get floored when I see the movie. He made himself look so small and meek next to Hugh, that seeing him in "300" was like getting hit with a brick in the face. Geez! There's no way in hell or high water I would've thought that to be the same man. I had of course seen LOTR before Van Helsing, but still... "300" was a huge, although highly enjoyable, shock to my system. My exact words were "JESUS CHRIST! Is THAT what he looks like under all those robes, armor and clothes?!"

His versatility is amazing and I look forward to any of his future work.

an actor who can change so much from role to role is a testament to the word 'actor;....in a world of one dimensional celebrities who repeat the same part over and over, soemone like David Wenham or Billy Crudup (and others) are refreshing

I completely agree. This man's the true definition of an actor!

I've seen him in LOTR and 300, but the other night I saw him in Van Helsing. His acting is phenomenal.

He's now one of my favorites!
