Honestly, he's proven himself many times over. He was great in Van Helsing, 300, and Lord of the Rings. Let's stop tossing him supporting roles and put him in another fantasy/action role, but this time in the lead. He's quite the capable actor.

I couldn't agree more, but I think you mean he needs a starring role in a Hollywood film, because he's had them in Australia films.

Yes, and thank god for Netflix or those of us in the States would never be able to find those movies. Or any other good movies really, as most of what Hollywood is making anymore is crap with bad actors. We need more Austie actors, they seem to know how it is done!

David Wenham deserves a big leading role in a action movie, I agree, he is too great, I thought he was cool in LOTR, and in Van Helsing, I sorta didnt like how he didnt do much, he was mostly exposition, but in 300, he got his lead role, he is one of the films stars, and well, to be honest, he was spectacular, and hopefully since 300 is turning out to be so successul, passing 400 million worldwide, hopefully someone in hollywood will notice him and give him a damn leading role where he can kick some ass
because this guy rocks, and honestly, I say take the role of Snake Plissken in Escape From New York from Gerard Butler and give it to David Wenham
but I, like many others, also think that Wenham would be an awesome solid snake, hopefully he will land that role

I think too, the Hollywood studios should give to him finally a leading role. Other LOTR stars have leading roles too - like Sean Bean and Karl Urban.
shareKarl Urban is another actor I liked from LOTR, I enjoy that he has landed 1 supporting role and 2 leading roles in action/adventure films since LOTR, a major role in The chronicles of Riddick, and the lead in Doom and Pathfinder, they are great roles, it just sucks that all 3 of those films were box office bombs, I think Karl Urban needs to get a new agent
meanwhile, David Wenham, as far as hollywood productions go, has landed 1 supporting role, and 1 major role, the supporting role in the fairly successful(after dvd sales anyway) Van Helsing, and then of course, a great major role in 300, which has turned out to be a huge worldwide succes beyond what most were imagining, so hopefully that will forward his hollywood career, he is a great actor to, cool voice
