So very disappointed in the portrayal of Jesus Christ in a youtube video

Your portrayal in that youtube video crossed a line between decent behavior and completely inappropriate behavior. It was not amusing. It was not trendy. It was quite simply obscene and blasphemous to God and offends all Christians. As a person or an actor you are obviously entitled to your opinions. But in this video you directly mocked Jesus Christ. For a Christian that is the same as if you mocked Mohammed for a Muslim. Of course if you had chosen to mock Mohammed you would be receiving death threats instead of many Christians taking to their computers to express their disappointment in the manner you chose to express your opinion.

Furthermore you brought the television show NCIS and your character into this skit by name and by having the NCIS marathon on the television during the skit. This was deeply offensive to Christian fans of the show as well as proud military families. Was that even a consideration? You have not expressed any regrets for what you chose to do. But I sincerely hope that Christians and military families unite and boycott your 'performances' in the future.

As former active duty & reserves Navy I must tell you that I was not at all offended.
For the record I served to stand up for his right to appear in this video. 1st Amendment: Freedom of Expression.
I also stood up for your right to disagree with him.

I will not sign your petition to get someone fired from their job and I will not boycott the show.

For the record, no one from the production or CBS has called Mr Weatherly out on his appearance in this project.

Stop watching if you choose - it called CHOICE.

Also: Using the words "All Christians are offended" is not correct. Do NOT presume to speak for all of us.

Mary: I'm not John, I can tell when you're lying. Sherlock: OK. I learned it on Youtube.

I don't think Michael was mocking Christianity in that video. I think he was mocking those who use their religion for an agenda. No one has copyright on Jesus image. Different people see him in different ways. That Michael's Jesus was to up front for you is your problem. No one elses.

Exactly Woodcat.

This Jesus was the Anglo-Saxon version: Long straight nearly blonde hair. Seeing as how he was from the middle-east I just can't see him actually looking Caucasian.

I agree. I am a Christian and I do not feel "mocked." I think they were speaking against intolerance and the right to make choices.

you have no problem when MW said "Jesus *beep* Christ"?

So please explain why the above quote is so offensive and this image is not:

Because to me they mean pretty much the same thing, yet one you are choosing to be offended by and the other is praised by those who apparently think as you do.

I could argue that Christ is being likened to a cartoon character with that image...
