What is this new look of him? I hate his new look!

I saw him in Oscar 2010 when he won for Inglorious Basterds and I really liked him. (I mean his face) and I liked him in Carnage and Django.

But this new look that I saw in Golden Globes and Oscar 2013 was awful. His hair and everything. (His new profile picture in IMDB too...)
Is this a new make up for his new movie or he just liked to bald himself for fun? I don't like his new face?
So is it for a movie?
Although I must say I like his acting. He is a really good actor.
But what can you say about his new look?

I love his new look! It took awhile to grow on me but now I prefer it, glasses and all!
