Hayden and Milo: The Big Question
Hayden and Milo: The Big Question
I would just like to say in the words of Kristin that "the Hayden and Milo rumors are out of control." I've read all kinds of stories about these two including a reported pregnancy scare, cheating allegations, Hayden dating other men, and even an alleged fight between them. None of which need any evidence what so ever to to know that they are all false. The only ones that require a bit more thinking are the original breakup story and Kristin's article which states they may not have broken up at all. Having read both leads to one important question. Are they together or not? Well I have investigated this very closely and cannot help but feel skeptical.
Let's start with origin. How did Hayden and Milo get into this mess? They certainly did not do it alone. Rumors often tend to originate and then slowly build up over time merely due to speculation. In this case I believe the media began to assume Hayden and Milo were going through a rough patch because they are one of the rare couples that aren't seen out together as often as some would like. Does that mean they have broken up? Absolutely not. Who could blame them for not wanting to have their pictures taken at their most private moments? Well, unfortunately rumors are going to result. Most of which focused on Hayden getting comfortable with singer, Jesse McCartney. The most recent one would be Radar's report claiming they were seen together at a bar. I think it can easily be established that this is a fabricated story considering Hayden and Jesse have been friends since they were kids. Obviously, the media didn't see it that way and took the sighting as a sign that Hayden and Milo were no more.
No less than a week later Us Weekly released an issue claiming "Heroes co-stars Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia have called it quits" due to a "lifestyle conflict." Now having been a journalist for eight years, I tend to pick out the tiny details that may just prove an article wrong. When reading this one in particular, I noticed they used a source "close to the couple." If this is the case, I really don't see how it can be used as real evidence. It doesn't matter how official they make it out to be because it's not confirmation until it's heard straight from the stars' reps.
I think what has everyone so convinced is the similar article on People.com. People is known for its "publicist-friendly strategy" which makes them no where near as bad as some of the other gossip magazines I've read. However when they say things like "a source close to the couple tells People the relationship never seemed like it had legs," it gets me thinking twice. First off, they too quoted a "source close to the couple" which we all know could be anybody. Secondly, if a friend, family member, or even a publicist is being quoted, they would usually put it in more respectful terms. The only thing I liked about that article was when they ended it saying "reps for both actors would not comment." At least they were willing to admit that instead of making it out to be an official statement.
When I think about it, it begins to appear as if Hayden and Milo are in the same boat as Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green who have been engaged since 2006. The constant rumors of a breakup hit them hard over the past few years until it was reported by People that they had "officially" broken up. They claimed that the two stars "had quietly ended their engagement to be married," and continued, "the decision was mutual... they're still friends." And yet, it had recently been found out that this was not the case at all. Their had been multiple sightings of Fox and Green seen together and even pictures of Megan returning from a visit with Brian's son. So you know what? It's looking like People may have guessed wrong about Hayden and Milo. So when will new photos of them together start to emerge? Who knows. They seem to be a bit more clever than most.
Another person who seems to think it's not the end is no other than Kristin Dos Santos from E! Online. Her sources say "they're still together," and "everything out there in the press is just speculation and hearsay." So what makes her sources different than People's or Us Weekly's? What some people don't seem to understand is that Kristin has real connections with stars of TV shows and the people they work with while sources from magazines can come from pretty much anywhere. Kristin even mentions in her article that her sources came from other workers on the set of Heroes. She, herself is a very reliable source. In fact, I have co-workers of my own who have gotten the opportunity to meet her. One says, "She really knows what she's doing. No one could do the job better than she could." Another source says there are "instances where Kristin has given inaccurate information but as long as it comes from someone who can be counted on to tell the truth, then she can be counted on too." And may I just add that if she is one who is willing to question these rumors, despite everything that's been going around, then there is a good reason for it.
After everything I've gathered up, I, like Kristin, have come to believe that it's all speculation, not fact. Everything might just turn out to be one big, fat rumor. But who really knows for sure? Only Hayden and Milo do.
