I don't see much of a resemblance, personally.
I admire Rachel Griffiths as an actress, but she just doesn't have Indira Varma's sex appeal. I'm usually indifferent to women, to tell the truth, but I saw Varma in Kama Sutra a couple of years ago, and she really, um, caught my interest. The fact that she also plays a character in a Doctor Who spinoff doesn't hurt, either.
