Now I know that a lot of people desperately want him to be some brainless leftist democrat so that they can use the shooting to galvanize the maga base; but that simply is not the case..
As someone without a dog in the fight, I find this predictable back & forth finger pointing between "left" & "right" partisan sheep to be very boring. Like okay he was a registered Republican. Who cares? He was clearly a nut. What prize do you win either way? All of you people are ridiculous.
How the shooter and, by extension, his target are perceived are hugely important (more so than the fate of the actual victim, and all victims of US gun culture, sadly). It's incredibly naive to dismiss it. Of course it's foolish to uto make simplistic finger pointing arguments or accusations out of it. But that's also precisely what Trump has done the past ten years.
The victims of US gun culture? What do you mean by that? Who are these victims and what is this culture?
How the shooter is perceived is of little consequence, as most everyone save for those on the far fringes understands that he was a seriously deranged individual. The political leanings of a crazed would-be killer are meaningless, and most everyone understands this.
Lastly, what are these simplistic, finger-pointing arguments and accusations that you claim Trump has made? I've heard him, and every other politician, make succinct statements summing up a belief on a given topic, but that's normal. We all do that. It sounds like you think he's guilty of some unique technique. Elaborate on this.
You never saw Trump point his finger at the southern border and scream about how it's all the fault of people coming across it that your country is supposedly almost on its knees?
No, never. Neither did you. You heard the media tell you that they heard it.
If you can step outside your partisan box for a moment and look at the real world you'll see that the media has created a completely false narrative on behalf of the government, both right and left. Those in power want to remain in power, and Trump threatens that. They have weaponized both the media and the justice system against him, and convinced you, and millions of others, that what they are telling you is the truth.
Enlighten me. Please link to a video of Trump pointing a finger and shouting that the people coming across the southern border are to blame for the problems the country faces.
So you can tell that he was using an idiom (not a metaphor), but not that I was using the same one in return? And of course you had to toss in an insult while displaying your inability to comprehend my response.
I've never heard Trump say those things. I've heard the media claim he has, but whenever I go to the original source-- his actual words-- it's very different.
I'm in favor of having strong borders to keep illegals out of the country, and to deport those who are already here. Does that mean I'm yelling and finger-pointing, or blaming all our problems on them? I don't think so. I have long believed that a nation is stronger and safer if it has laws about who can immigrate, and when, and how, and can vet those immigrants before bringing them in. I think that protects both the citizens and the immigrants, and leads to a better end result.
That's pretty much the same thing I've heard Trump say in recent years. I've never heard him say that all of America's ills are the fault of immigrants, nor have I heard him say armies of rapists murders and convicts are flooding across the border. Did he say that and I missed it?
So someone invokes "Finger pointing" and you don't think it's an idiom? You think that we're talking about literal finger pointing. How do you literally point your finger at immigration, abortion etc?
If you find it boring then simply don't pay attention to it.. But all of the facts have to be put out there because there are those who will us this assassination attempt for nefarious means if they think that it was some leftist attack on Trump.. Someone might even go after Biden as revenge if they think that the shot at Trump was planned by "radical leftists"..
If Trump was killed there would almost certainly be violent responses from the far right regardless of the back & forth finger pointing. At best it would rally his base behind someone so far right that that they would make Trump would look like Bernie Sanders, so the other side should be glad that didn't happen
Ok.. But he had right wing views in high school and he was a registered republican.. Are we sure that someone else didn't make that donation in his name? Because there is a lot about this that doesn't add up..
You know what doesn't add up is why there are 3 fat chicks in the Secret Service protecting a 6'5 man in Donald Trump and since when do you have to ask permission to take THAT shot and eliminate the problem??
Records show that he made a $15 donation to Progressive Turnout Project, a Chicago-based political action committee that supports Democrat candidates for public office and claims to advocate for "key Democratic constituencies: young people, minorities and low-income people."
It is true that even though he made that donation, he could have later on changed his political views.. Because his classmates stated that he was very conservative and he is a registered republican..
Could have been worse. He could have changed his mind and ran for president as a Republican after contributing to the Dems to the tunes of millions of dollars for years.
Question is when, when did he donate to democrats, when did he register to be a republican? The time line would show more truth, if the truth is what you guys are after.
Update:
Thomas Matthew Crooks registered as a Republican in September 2021.
Thomas Matthew Crooks donated to Democrats on the day of President Joe Biden’s inauguration, which is January 20, 2021.
So looks like a guy supported democrats, then became republican. Of course none of this is recent, so we have no idea which side he was on at the time of shooting.
OK, a new theory. Based on the timeline I found out in the post above.
He hated Trump, the donation to democrats I think was a thank you note.
He registered as republican probably to influence primary to make sure Trump won't be a candidate in the next election. And Trump became the candidate, that triggered his action.
$15 is at most still only one ten thousandth of what Donald Trump personally contributed to the dems. And probably only several hundred thousandths of what Trump has encouraged people to contribute to the dems in his lifetime.
Crooks was a conservative who was a registered republican.. He was a mixed up right wing nutjob who maybe thought he could get famous by killing the former president. But the left didn't have anything to do with this.. Sorry to burst your maga bubble...
I am going by his actions as well which include holding very conservative views during numerous debates in class and registering as a republican.. I am starting to think that this kid simply wanted to commit suicide and at the same time become famous for killing a former president.. But like I said, the left had nothing to do with this.
Those could barely be called actions. There's no record of your boy's supposed conservative high school views (his classmates could very easily have been gotten to), and registering takes as much effort as a fart.
When it came to committed, telling behaviours – parting with cash, firing off a gun – your boy did those things in opposition to the conservatives. He's one of your crazy lefties, own it.
Speaking and registering are verbs(actions).. What you are talking is sheer conspiracy.. I don't doubt that he made the donation, but this boy was a teenager at the time. He could have made that donation on a Monday and had political discussions with conservatives on a Tuesday which changed his political outlook for all we know. But nobody "got to" anybody.. So unless you have proof of it; then stop saying it.
Ahh yes, because citizens being manipulated into bolstering a political narrative has never, ever happened before. No precedence for that throughout history... 🙄
Let me break it down so even you can understand. Back when daddy used to give you birthday cards saying "I love you", while beating the piss out of you to the point you became a brain-damaged leftoid... he didn't really love you, son.
When people show you who they are, believe them. Democratic donors and would-be Republican candidate killers, are not fucking Republicans. 🤣 Your boy, again, was a crazed leftist.
Ok I see that you are just some maga nutjob yourself who desperately needs this to be some kind of conspiracy in order to validate your sorry existence.. I am done talking to you.. deuces..
A "leftist" wearing a maga hat while whie spouting his conservative views in front of classmates and registering as a republican makes that person a CONSERVATIVE whether you want to see that or not is absolutely irrelevant..
Trump is a POS who only cares about himself.. He doesn't give a damn about this country.. You can tell that by the vile comments that he has made about servicemen...calling them stupid and such. It is too bad that his cultist followers can't see that..
Trump is a crazed leftist. I bet he contributed more to the KKKDems and their marxist demagoguery pre 2012 than everybody in Movichat.org combined has ever contributed to any party, times a thousand.
Oh, who cares at this point, it matters not one iota! This back and forth is ridiculous, what happened happened and (perhaps as a result or perhaps not) it is increasingly likely that he will win the election...
As I believe the stakes are just as high, I can hope only that our current POTUS can behave like a certain tall gentleman planned to during the summer of 1864:
This morning, as for some days past, it seems exceedingly probable that this Administration will not be re-elected. Then it will be my duty to so co-operate with the President elect, as to save the Union between the election and the inauguration; as he will have secured his election on such ground that he can not possibly save it afterwards. — A. Lincoln
