Open borders and deportation are separate subjects though. Being against automatic deportation does not equate to wanting open borders. Open borders simply means all immigrants who crossed are legal. No democratic politician says all undocumented immigrants are legal and should be exempt from deportation altogether. Whats being said is deportation should not carry a blanket policy to all undocumented immigrants. For example in the case of an overstayed visa. If the undocumented immigrant is on a work visa and does the work he was supposed to do then it makes sense to give him a little bit longer in the case there's a hickup over paperwork with extending his visa. To outright deport him probably results in him never getting a visa again even though he did the work he was supposed to do. Thats all democrats are saying. Don't be so quick to deport just because someone is undocumented. But nobody is saying never ever deport. Any illegal border crossing is likely to be viewed by a democrat as a case for deportation. Its just not open and shut. There are concerns at play such as whether or not the person or family was fleeing a crisis. Is handing them back to their crisis situation really the American way when the person or family has shown they are willing to abide by state laws? Doesn't seem very American to me. But to repubs its all about skin color. If they are white they get the benefit of the doubt. If they are brown then they are a problem to society. Its disgusting.
