If Trump Is Against Regime Change, Why Is He In Venezuela?

Pretending a guy that nobody voted for is the current president is a lie. What happened to Trump respecting the sovereignty of another country's borders? Talk about hypocrisy. Another overthrow for oil because it worked out so wonderfully on the previous occasions..

He's the president. All presidents are hypocrites. Some more than others.

Your standards should be a bit higher. Don't settle.

Not an endorsement just an observation.

Looks like your girl Hillary won the election after all. Peace is a Russian plot.

And Yemen.

Actually, in this one instance I think we should intervene. First of all, the election was a total sham. Maduro's people were in charge of the vote tallies, and he disqualified all the significant opposition candidates. The majority of people really did not want him there. He might as well just say "I have the guns, so screw you all!" and not bother holding pretend elections. It would at least be honest.

This is not the Middle East. There are no religious fanatics there who are against the whole idea of democracy, and a traditional culture that would have to change drastically in order to make it work. The Venezuelan people want a free country and a democratic government that represents them. We wouldn't have to stay long. It's also a strategic necessity, like the Cuban Missile Crisis, to prevent the Russians from establishing a military foothold in the Americas.

Whatever Trump and Bolton's motives may be, and I don't believe for a second they're close to pure, in this case it leads them to the right decision.

"The majority of people really did not want him there."

Kinda reminds me of an election that took place in 2016.

We really need to get rid of the Electoral College. Americans should never again accept a President who lost the popular vote. It's happened twice in the last twenty years and given us two bad Presidents - including the worst one in the country's history.

"We wouldn't have to stay long."
LOL. How about permanently for its oil and anything else that could be exploited. Chavez was trying to help the poor even though he made mistakes. Maduro is a dictator in the making, but he at least still has the support of the poor who see him as someone wanting to help them. I'm convinced that the West is destabilizing the country.

No coincidence that after Maduro said he would accept only euros for oil instead of dollars did the U.S. want him out.

Saddam did the same and Gaddafi wanted to create an African gold-backed currency for his oil. Notice a pattern? There's literally an active slave market in Libya now because of the West. Do you see any Western powers wanting to help free anyone?

Europeans and U.S. are salivating right now about all the money to be made once they take over the country.

I guarantee that the Venezuelan people won't see any of the profit. It's not about democracy or freedom. Just a bunch of investors wanting to make a profit.

There are no good guys here. Europe, Trump, the banks, Maduro and Putin are all sleaze. My condolences go to the average Venezuelan who will lose no matter who gains the upper hand.
