Because people need jobs and because its the most abundant, cheapest, and most practical form of energy...moron.
Hey dumbass, people can be trained in other areas. Natural gas is better in every way. Wow, you are stupid.

Coal I a dirty way of heating. Natural gas or solar is the way to go
shareand is the worst for the environment, air quality, co2 in the atmosphere, adding to the world wide carbon footprint...
shareWhy anyone would want to go back to the coal mines is beyond stupid. Most coal miners have been retrained to do jobs that won't kill them.
shareThat's not true ^^^^^^
Coal miners live in really small towns with limited options, they haven't been retrained and now they're working at Wal Mart or Fast food at best making like 9 bucks a hour. I'm not jumping up and down over bringing coal mining jobs back but you have to give these people something they can live on. Before anyone brings it up, raising minimum wage for low skilled jobs like retail or restaurant work isn't realistic.
You don't need to sign your posts with what you are, we already know.
And no, coal are neither of those things. Coal are shortsighted, expensive, a natural resource that are limited and unpractical as it needs to be moved from the mine to the coal burners.
Just compare coal to wind, solar and water energy where the energy is extracted on site and then delivered to the users via a cable. Why coal is expensive is because of the effects it has longterm. By poisoning your rivers you are effectively killing of the fishermans livelihood (fish often procreate in river deltas), the farmer will water their crops with poisonous water, bringing extra costs to the hospitals caring for those children developing cancer by eating it etc. How will Trump solve that? I could go on and on for hours, but i'm hoping you get the picture.
If Trump truly cared about actually bringing jobs to those towns longterm and not just trying to quickly raise his dropping popularity numbers, then he would have looked if he could get factories that produce things like windmills to those places. Because coal is a dying buisness, it's not modern or smart, so why invest in it? Wouldn't it be better to invest in the future, rather than in the past?

Because people need jobs
People who made horse buggy whips also needed jobs, but we've moved past the need for those.
People who made 8-Track tapes also needed jobs, but we've moved past that also.
and because its the most abundant, cheapest, and most practical form of energy
No! I lived in a coal-mining town and I don't think any of these things are true.
...moron.
Why can't people express their ideas without resorting to name calling?
