I dont get it either, this guy has lived off Pans labyrinth for way too long. hellboy movies were solid too but the last one is from 2008, its almsot a decade since then by now. All his name has been associated with since then has been mentioned as a producer for crappy B horror movies or failed cinema or remake ones.

His name is synonymous with the horror movies from the 90's early 2000 where some former good horror director had his name stamped on anything that was horror and went straight to dvd/vhs

I love Pan, the Hellboys, Blade 2, Pac Rim, The Strain.

The Devil's Backbone and Cronos were very good. He produced Mama which I liked. Even Mimic, probably the worst movie he's involved with and heavily tempered with by the producers, was atleast decent.

I think everything he does is either great or atleast highly entertaining.
