What's his next movie?

I thought Pacific Rim 2 as his next movie however I keep seeing a push for Hellboy 3 does anybody know if he has said for sure?

reply

Will probably be PR2, Perlman seems to be pushing Hellboy 3 solo.

Come at the king, you best not miss.

I couldn't see Hellboy being made without Guierllmo del toro it just wouldn't be the same his vision is a big part of what makes it Great.

reply

There's almost no info about it, but supposedly will shoot (or already has) a secret little film before focusing full time in PR 2.

Who knows? All his movies seem to get cancelled or put on hold. Now Pacific Rim 2 seems to be another casualty. Poor guy.

reply

Yeah unless he starts production and whatnot then I lways hold my breath when he announces something.

Lose the Game!!!!!!!

Yes, maybe more so with GdT seemingly, but it's still true for all in that no production is entirely a sure thing until it's in the can. And even then there's the odd incident of something going wrong.

But in the Wrap interview (pub 13th Oct), GdT confirmed his next project (the small movie without a name yet) is actually due to start filming in June! That's new, surely, and incredibly specific! Somewhat surprising timing relative to the "Crimson Peak" release too, so whatever it is, it seems to have been scheduled to very specific effect. What is it?

If one were to go by what’s been printed, you’re doing the “Pacific Rim” sequel next, or you’re doing a small black and white movie, or you’re doing the “Haunted Mansion” movie …

For sure I’m doing a small movie next. I start shooting in June. No title yet. And I’m probably going to do “Pinocchio” as a stop motion. And then if the cards fall the right way, we may do “Pacific Rim 2.” I hope I do. But that decision is above my pay grade at this point, you know?
Whatever that "small movie" is, that sounds like it's happening. And from that response and the ignoring of the "black and white" reference, it might not necessarily be black and white either. Could it be this? Or is that a red herring?

According to The Guardian, one of Guillermo’s pet projects is a low-budget black and white film about a “Mexican masked wrestler who discovers that all politicians are vampires.” The project is called SILVA (or maybe PLATA), and apparently has been a project of his for years. We also know that before PACIFIC RIM 2 was given the greenlight (kind of), Guillermo wanted to squeeze in a small B&W film between May and June earlier this year.
