Hellboy 3 or Pacific Rim 2?

Should he get the budget necessary to make a follow-up to either of the big-budget films he's now most associated with, with sequels in talks for both, which would you prefer if it could only be one or the other: Hellboy 3 or Pacific Rim 2?

Personally, I am overwhelmingly in favour of Hellboy 3. He's promised it would involve Hellboy bringing the apocalypse to Earth. I'd like to see Idris Elba cancel that.

That said, I'd rather still see his Pinocchio or Frankenstein films take light (particularly if the latter involves Benedict Cumberbatch, as rumoured), or something else small/intimate/far more - I hate to say it, but the comparison is inevitable - Pan's-y, but Hellboy 3 would make me a pretty happy camper.

Well if I had to choose, it would be Hellboy 3. Pacific Rim was freaking amazing, and it's one of my favorite films ever! However, at least it has a good contained ending. They can always expand on the universe through more graphic novels and such. Hellboy 3 ended with a cliffhanger and with undertones of a epic event on the horizon. Hellboy 3 needs to be done someday.

Between just those two, Hellboy 3, but Pacific Rim 2 could be cool, with the ideas that are being thrown around. I'd much rather have At The Mountains Of Madness than either of those, though.

Hellboy 3 for sure. I really enjoyed the world building Del Toro did, and Hellboy if not just a one dimensional character either. They need to finish the trilogy and also make a better movie than Hellboy 2...

I would love to see a Pacific Rim 2 or Hellboy 3. Neither will likely happen. Guillermo is one of those Directors who can bring a vision to his projects and make great films (not many can go from small to big films and still apply the same creative talent without getting greedy). Unfortunately he is better suited to low budget ones simply because his movies don't make much. His style (while good) takes a good marketing team to convince the general audience. Pacific Rim (while a fantastic film, IMO GDT's 2nd best) has failed at the Box Office and will probably not get a sequel. Unless the studio realizes that they screwed up the marketing.

Both, but neither of them look likely to happen anyway.

WB is like a snail when it comes to adapting DC properties that aren't Batman or Superman.
