David Tennant to star in Scottish thriller

David Tennant, who played Doctor Who from 2005 to 2010, will star in a new Scottish TV drama called I Feel Fine set in Glasgow in the Eighties.

The thriller, which charts the story of teenager Jonny White, who becomes embroiled in crime and drug addiction.

Dominic West, Stacy Martin, Billy Boyd, Carice Van Houten, Sharleen Spiteri and Gary Lewis will also be in I Feel Fine, with Lynne Ramsay and Robyn Slovo acting as executive producers.

Filming is expected to begin in October.

The script comes from Hamilton and Amber Trentham. Producers are casting agent Lara Manwaring for Buffalo Films and Suzanne Reid (What We Did On Our Holiday) for Capricorn Films.

Sounds cool. Love West too!

I am interested to hear about this. It almost sounds like an updated version of Trainspotting, except, of course, for the fact that it takes place in Glasgow.

I wonder if I can see it, from across the Pond?

I Feel Fine is actually a movie, not a TV drama. That's an error on the part of the journalist.

Making this available in US and Canada would be super! I grew up watching Classic Dr Who. So glad DT was one of the doctors in the updated version. He's amazing! Whatever he's in he embodies the character so completely.

Tennant is brilliant in Broadchurch, so I'll be looking forward to this next project even though he is doing a third season of aforementioned show. And Dominic West? SWEET! He was definitely an important part of what made The Wire the single greatest crime drama series ever done.

Not sure what's happening with this one. It's now saying "preproduction" but he's booked for the first part of 2016 with stage work in London and New York and supposedly Broadchurch 3 in the summer. He's also got Metanoia to film. It will be interesting to see if one of these projects falls by the wayside for him.
