I suppose I can't speak to all languages, but for those working primarily in the English language, I honestly can't think of a person more talented than Swinton at this time and place.

shareAgree, she's fascinating, versatile, and can be wicked as well as charming. I have her in my top 5 women actors, right up there with Winslet Blanchett Streep and Moore. The film that I really found her entertaining in was Snow Piercer. I couldn't take my eyes off her even when other actors were delivering lines. I find her best role to date was in "we need to talk about Kevin". Wow!

shareShe certainly is intriguing, that much I will say. I'm not sure if being good at looking androgynous makes one a great actor, but I do like Ms Swinton.
The funny thing is -- I have this weird mental block with her name. I can always remember Cate Blanchett but I have the hardest time with Tilda Swinton. Doesn't make any sense. I think Cate might make more public appearances, maybe that's it.
Not to mention how many "Cates", "Katies" & "Cathryns" the average person knows in their life. Don't remember ever knowing even one "Tilda".
shareWhich means she should be even that much more memorable. I think most adults who have watched Tilda Swinton in a film likely remembers HER is not her name. That's my problem. I can't remember her name as much as I really like her. It's just a funny mental thing.
