Kristen makes Taste of Cinema's The 25 Best Actresses of the 21st Century list.

Even as a self-professed fan, I was pleasantly surprised that Kristen made this list considering she's in quite exclusive company as well as the fact that several critically acclaimed actresses didn't make the cut including Melissa Leo, Helena Bonham Carter, Annette Benning, Laura Linney, Hilary Swank, Saoirse Ronan, Anne Hathaway, Brie Larson, Rachel McAdams, Kristin Scott Thomas and Laura Dern to name a few.
However, I must also admit that I do feel somewhat vindicated since Kristen has gotten snubbed when her critically acclaimed performances (e.g., Clouds of Sils Maria, Still Alice, Cafe Society, Personal Shopper) failed to garner her a single major acting award nod (i.e., Oscar, GG, SAG).
I'm guessing a major factor in Kristen's inclusion involves her stellar performances in Olivier Assayas' films, one of which garnered her international acclaim, most notably her becoming the first American actress to have ever won a Cesar--something I believe the Taste of Cinema could not overlook since they claim to focus on World Cinema. What else could explain why Kristen ranks higher than the one whom many consider to be the greatest actress of her generation, Jennifer Lawrence?
