Seriously, she's a terrible actress, how can anyone like her?

I don't get how she still get's roles. Her 'tics' are so annoying.

If you like certain actors and her acting is not to your liking, maybe you should watch those actors? Maybe Kristen Stewart is NOT marketed to your demographic? Whatever that is. And Kristen Stewart has admitted many times that her movies are not for everyone and that she's no method actor. So don't flatter yourself, dearie. As matter of fact, there are some actresses older than her and acting much longer than her and their acting range hasn't developed much either. Scarlett Johansson is one in particular. Scar Jo is older than Stewart and has been in movies much longer than Stewart and always plays Ms. Sex Object in every damn thing she's in. Or maybe your just an educated fool who doesn't what they are talking about?

Excellent points Austin. Case in point: Two of Hollywood's biggest box office draws over the past 15 years, Tom Cruise and Angelina Jolie, are ranked #1 and #2 on Ranker's "The Most Annoying A-List Actors" list: http://www.ranker.com/list/most-annoying-a-list-actors/ranker-film

So that would be somewhat of an oxymoron to have two actors who are widely considered to be annoying are paid several million for each role they are cast in, when taken in the context of the OP which states that because an actor is considered by many to be annoying, that such an actor should not continue to be cast in films.

I myself don't consider either actor to be annoying at all. For example there was nothing annoying about watching Tom's performances, in chronological order of his appearances in the movies: "The Outsiders", "Risky Business", "All the Right Moves", "Legend", "Top Gun", "The Color of Money", "Rain Man", "Born on the Fourth of July", "Days of Thunder", "Far and Away", "A Few Good Men", "The Firm", "Interview with the Vampire", "Mission: Impossible", "Jerry Maguire", "Eyes Wide Shut", "Magnolia", "Mission: Impossible II", "The Others", "Vanilla Sky", "Minority Report", "Narc", "The Last Samurai", "Collateral", "War of the Worlds", Mission: Impossible III", "Tropic Thunder", "Valkyrie", "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol", "Jack Reacher", Edge of Tomorrow", "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation", "Jack Reacher: Never Go Back".

And likewise I find nothing annoying about watching Angelina's performances, in the chronological order of her appearances in the movies: "Playing by Heart", "Pushing Tin", "The Bone Collector", "Girl, Interrupted", "Gone in 60 Seconds", "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider", "Original Sin", "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life", "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow", "Mr. & Mrs. Smith", "The Good Shepherd", "A Mighty Heart", "Wanted", "Changeling", "Salt" and "Maleficent".

I think she works well for small indie type roles, it must be hard for an average looking girl to fall into a multi billion franchise role and find herself under constant scrutiny and judgment as a teenager. (When I say average of course I mean by Hollywood standards, she's an attractive woman in the regular world). What's sad is movie piracy has killed small movies like Adventureland that would've made their money back in video stores, so most offbeat actresses are forced to seek out roles in comic book and superhero franchises where the only talent one really needs is to look beautiful. She would've been better off during the 70s where directors like Altman would cast normal looking people .

Good points as well Sentient, as I believe many casual fans and observers would probably agree with most of what you stated. I couldn't agree more that indie roles suit her the best since my personal fave performances of her have all been in indies (i.e., Clouds of Sils Maria, Adventureland, Still Alice, The Runaways, The Cake Eaters, Into the Wild, Speak). While I'm not really a fan of The Twilight Saga films, just the fact that she helped anchor the highest grossing female oriented film franchise of all time speaks volumes. Unfortunately for her, like you mentioned, it was a double edged sword in that the paparazzi and gossip rags never let her out of their sight, which must have been difficult for a young actress who doesn't prefer the limelight. You do have a point when you say she's average looking by Hollywood standards, from the perspective that in the roles most know her by, she portrays the average girl next door, oftentimes a troubled teen. However, when she's all dolled up, I consider her to be one of the prettiest young actresses working in Hollywood today. And there must be a good reason why she is the face of Chanel's makeup line and models extensively for Chanel. I've been wanting Kristen to star in a superhero franchise primarily for exposure, in order to show mainstream audiences that she does possess a measure of acting talent--as most only know her by Twilight--and obviously most haven't seen her small budget indies, well at least not in theaters. So thankfully she has been cast in the big budget film "Underwater", which is not exactly a superhero flick, but will afford her the opportunity to star in a kickass role in a studio tentpole, which might suit her even better than a superhero franchise probably would. While starring in a superhero role is relatively uncharted territory for Kristen, it does not come without precedent as the fifth installment of Twilight, "Breaking Dawn - Part 2", she did play a vampire with superhuman strength. And of course there's her role as Snow in "Snow White and the Huntsman", where she portrayed another kickass heroine, a film which actually did pretty well at the box office, grossing nearly $400 million worldwide, which was much better than "The Huntsman: Winter's War" did despite retaining all of the stars from SWATH, except for Kristen, while adding Emily Blunt and Jessica Chastain. Speaking of working with directors during the '70s, I would have loved to have seen Kristen perform in a role similar to Gena Rowland's role in indie film pioneer John Cassavetes' 1974 film "A Woman Under the Influence." In an interview, Kristen even mentioned how she considered Rowland's performance as one of the most influential roles on her as a young actress growing up in Hollywood.

I think she can be pretty as well, many people were praising her beauty when she did a SNL sketch recently that forced her to get dolled up, but as I said she's not at the flawless perfectly symmetrical beauty of a Charlize Theron in her prime (which also cruelly opened her up to ridicule being cast opposite her in Snow White). I'd say almost the same thing about Scarlett Johansson who is more conventionally beautiful but was still better when she made films like Ghost World and Lost in Translation rather than this crappy Avengers garbage... as well as Elizabeth Olsen who was so good in Martha Marcy May Marlene and is now playing shitty roles in Avengers and Godzilla.

Gena Rowlands as Mabel Longhetti in Woman Under the Influence was a brilliant performance and because Gena never had to live through this current era of Transformers, Marvel and DC, Harry Potter, Twilight franchise billion dollars or bust "filmmaking" as well as the vicious scrutiny of social media, she didn't have to live with millions asking her why she wasn't as hot as Raquel Welch.

Yes, I would definitely agree that her being dolled up on SNL is a perfect example--namely the sketch where she impersonated supermodel Gisele Bundchen as well as the Totino's sketch.

Despite me saying she's one of the prettiest actresses in Hollywood, even I wouldn't admit she's a classic beauty in the truest sense of the word. But like they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and there's something about Kristen that makes me more attracted to her beauty than even actresses with perfectly proportioned faces a la the 1.618 Golden Ratio.

Yes, I'm a sucker for beauty and won't deny that I find other actresses of her generation with more perfect facial proportions such as Margot Robbie and Emma Watson to be drop dead gorgeous--just as during the Golden Age of Hollywood people would say the same about Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren, Lauren Bacall, Ursula Andress, Vivien Leigh, Jacqueline Bisset and yes, of course like you mentioned, Raquel Welch. I too, no doubt, find them all to be immensely attractive--along with actresses from younger generations such as Tuesday Weld, Madeline Stowe, Brooke Shields, Sharon Stone, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Elizabeth Hurley, Heather Graham, Alyssa Milano, Rebecca Romijn, Nicole Kidman, Denise Richards, Milla Jovovich, Angelina Joli and still younger generations which include the likes of Megan Fox, Natalie Portman and Jessica Alba.

And yet in my mind, Kristen still has the drop on all of them. For me, like the women I'm attracted to in real life, beauty goes beyond just another pretty face. If it were only about looks, when it comes to actresses who should be starring in superhero flicks like we've been talking about, filmmakers should cast Victoria's Secret Fashion models--or better yet--adult film stars--some of whom are in my opinion--just as attractive as any actress working in Hollywood today--I kid you not. So one would think an actress must still possess a measure of acting talent even in a superhero film.

Words alone can't possibly convey how beautiful I consider Kristen to be, so here's a YouTube video which illustrates what I mean when I say Kristen is one of the prettiest actresses working in Hollywood today, even though she's not considered by some to be a classic beauty in the strictest sense of the word: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XE1IemsIkTw

I think she's a very capable actress. She plays frightened/scared exceptionally well.

I think I've only seen KS in one film - Certain Women. It's a small film and she has a smallish part (though, of course, there are no small parts) but I thought she was pretty good. More than held her own among a strong cast of 'character' actors.

If there is one role I would recommend that showcases her acting talent, it would have to be "Clouds of Sils Maria". In my opinion, she put on an acting clinic with her performance. And many would probably agree as she became the first American actress to have ever won a Cesar award for her role as Valentine. She also received lots of critical acclaim for this role, most notably, first place critics groups awards from both the New York Film Critics Circle and National Society of Film Critics as well as a second place award from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association. These three critics groups are widely considered to be the three most prestigious film critics groups in the world.

Here's a YouTube video containing some of my fave clips of Kristen as Valentine in CoSM: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_Wq5GHL3j0

I don't think Hollywood needs go that extreme of casting Victoria Secret model and porn stars in superhero movies. They need to look no further than athletes and people in the fitness industry. Yes, envisioning Instagram "fitness" babe Ashley Kaltwasser as Spider-Woman or WWE Diva Becky Lynch as Black Widow (instead of sell out artist Scar Jo) really sets the fires in my loins. As for Kristen, on Youtube I saw many comments on the Totino's sketch of how beautiful she is. And there is also on that certain Rolling Stones video, comments of her being hot or sexy. In both those moments, Stewy is giving the Megan Fox's and Scarlett Johansson's of the world a run for their money and comes out on top beautifully. But she just doesn't make being one-dimensional sex objects on screen a habit. AND THAT IS WHAT I PERSONALLY FIND SEXY ABOUT HER. And I like it more when actresses like Kristen or Olivia Wilde( who speaking of beautiful women, I am appalled no one mentioned her) play characters who can just be naturally intimate with a significant other without always trying to market themselves as hyper- sexual beings in every damn movie they're in.

My analogy of using VSFS supermodels and porn stars as the lead heroine in superhero movies was to make the point you clarified in your post Austin--that filmmakers shouldn't resort to using "one-dimensional sex objects" just because they're eye candy LOL!

That being said, one former adult film star that comes to mind, one of the most popular I might add, Sasha Grey who made the transition to mainstream Hollywood films, most notably her mesmerizing performance as the lead actor in "The Girlfriend Experience" which currently has a 66% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which includes a 4-star rating out of 4, from the late great film critic Roger Ebert who spoke very highly of her performance. In my opinion, her good acting chops coupled with her model looks made me wonder why she has never been cast in a superhero flick.

As far as Victoria's Secret Fashion models, at the top of my list for a possible VSFS Angel being cast in a superhero film role would have to be Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who replaced Megan Fox as the lead actress in "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" and had a supporting role in the Best Picture Oscar nominated film "Mad Max: Fury Road" which currently has a 97% RT score.

As far as a fitness model, who I believe has the looks, screen presence and charismatic personality to pull off a kick-ass heroine role in a superhero flick, I would go with Brooke Burke, who has been at the top of my list for as long as I can remember: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dpd_RG1aXFo
