I wasn't familiar with this actor before, I'm sorry to say. I don't know how big Vampire Diaries
is in the UK. I read the whole Fifty Shades trilogy, thought about who could play Christian, as
if I was the casting director or something. I couldn't even comprehend someone
suitable. Then, on the Wiki page, I saw that Ian might be interested. This is sad, but I
started crying, he was so beautiful and suitable for Mr. Grey. SO distinctive. Only
other actor I've seen who comes close is Matt Bomer. Beautiful as hell, but not as distinctive
as Ian. I still hope they'll cast an unknown, but if not, it HAS to be one of these two.

You're right. That is sad. But if this series makes you happy, I can't hate on it too much.

There's no news on casting yet as the only things that have been confirmed are that Universal Pictures and Focus Features secured the rights to the trilogy in March of this year as well as producers Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti ('The Social Network') signing on to produce it.

I've no intention of reading the books but judging by its themes, I think the film will be getting an 'R' rating ('18' in the UK).
