every white person owes this man an apology
a written one...

what color is the sky in your world?
shareNot me! I knew he was innocent all the time. Although part of me was hoping he would have been convicted because I need a new big screen TV and Xbox.
shareUh, hell no! It's the other way around!! Jussie owes that to the mayor of Chicago, the police and the public!!!
shareNot so fast....
As both prime witnesses for the prosecution start to unravel, and their lawyer abruptly quits, I think the Nigerian Brothers owe everyone an apology...starting with Jussie.
Damn right!!!
shareSo it was all their fault, they paid themselves with a cheque from jessie.
shareTry to follow along. Comprehension isn't your strongest skill, but try anyhow.
Here's Smollett's lawyer explaining the check which was written in December:
“The Osundairo brothers said more than once that the $3,500 check they received was for exactly what Jussie said,” insisted Patricia Brown Holmes. “It was for nutrition and training. They were his trainers.”
I've bolded the quote where she explains what the $3,500 check was for and acknowledged by the brothers, so you can understand better.
Serious question: Is Jussie so stupid that he can't tell the difference between two black Nigerian brothers and two white Trump supporters?
shareI have an answer for you, direct from one of Jussie's attorneys:
“He only saw one of the attackers. One of them he didn’t see. He saw one through a ski mask,” Tina Glandian said. “Again, he could not see their body. Everything was covered, and he had a full ski mask on except the area around the eyes.”
“He did tell police that he — from what we saw, he thought it was pale skin or white or pale skin, was I think what he said,” she added. “And that was what he — and that’s why he initially did have a hard time.”
Glandian continued by suggesting Osundairo brothers had worn whiteface in the past — during a skit as The Joker from Batman in clown makeup — and may have done it again.
“Well, you know, I mean, I think there’s — obviously, you can disguise that. You can put makeup on. There is, interestingly enough, a video. You know, I think police had minimal investigation in this case, it took me only five minutes to Google. You know, I was looking up the brothers, and one of the videos that showed up actually was of the brothers in whiteface doing a joker monologue with white makeup on him. So, it’s not — it’s not implausible,” she explained to reporters.
MEANWHILE, day three and the Nigerian Brothers are still not refuting Smollett's claim. They've completely backed away from their previous claim that it's a staged hoax.
In that case, I still maintain my stance that whilst there is not enough evidence to find Jussie guilty beyond all reasonable doubt*, on a balance of evidence his account sounds very dubious and contrived indeed (which isn't to say that he's lying but simply to say that if one applies Occam's Razor, it's more likely than not that he is).
*and for what it's worth, I am generally uneasy about convicting people for making false allegations, as terrible as they are, because in doing so you potentially dissuade real victims from coming forward, and moreover, absence of evidence does not necessarily amount to evidence of absence.
I'm curious as to why you and others who are convinced Jussie is still guilty, are not questioning the behavior of the Nigerian brothers and their attorney these days?
No one is making a peep about the fact that day three is here and the two men - prime witnesses for the prosecution - have remained silent, and will not stand by their original statements that Jussie planned the whole attack?
Not a mention that their lawyer abruptly quit on them Tuesday, because they wouldn't stand by their story?
Not a word about the fact that Jussie's attorney was able to find evidence that these two men have dressed in 'whiteface' in the past by Googling their names, and the police never bothered to do such an investigation into them?
Not a word from you or anyone else - and this is the part of the case which is most troubling.
Maybe it's because I'm tired of blaming Africans, and foreigners in general, including Russians, for everything crappy thing that happens to America.
Don't blame Trump. Blame Russia.
Don't blame Jussie. Blame the Nigerians.
I guess you Americans are perfect. If only the rest of the world wasn't constantly screwing with you guys...🙄
The sad thing is that in trying to defend Jussie, a black man, we've simply shifted the blame to two black African men (then again like Nick Nolte's character says in Hotel Rwanda when explaining why the world let the Rwandan genocide occur on its watch: "You're black. You're not even a 'n-word'. You're an African.")
And if they are indeed guilty of lying - and lying to the Grand Jury - then we should give them a pass because they're African?
shareAs Africans, particularly Nigerians, they are a lot worse off than the average American, black or white, male or female.
I'm not saying that this exonerates then, but I do find it curious how whenever a rich white American woman or a rich black American man is in trouble with the law, the default position is to blame a black African.
How progressive...
I do find it curious how whenever a rich white American woman or a rich black American man is in trouble with the law, the default position is to blame a black African.
I just find it curious that when Jussie was in trouble everyone rushed to his defence citing police racism, and when Amanda Knox was in trouble everyone rushed to her defence citing sexism, but as soon as a black African man is indicted for the same offences, no-one is talking about institutional racism anymore.
Does institutional racism only apply to rich Americans? I guess the Osundairo Brothers much be benefiting from 'African privilege'. 🙄
Again, if you provide examples of what you are claiming, I'll be glad to have the conversation with you. Until then, I can't comment as I don't know of any pattern of which you claim that would want me to give a pass to an African man who is guilty of a crime.
As for Smollett and everyone rushing to his defense crying racism (I didn't, and I'm not sure if others did) the reason that may have happened is because the CPD has had a problem of racism for the past 10-20 years, and has had to settle lawsuits worth millions because of their racism. So I can understand their cries of racism this time around, as they really haven't' solved the problem within their department.
As far as Amanda Knox - not sure at all what she has to do with this, so I have no comment.
But if CPD's case against Smollett is 'racist' (and I'm not arguing otherwise), why isn't its case against two black Nigerian men 'racist'?
I just don't understand how people like Ava DuVernay are rushing to Smollett's defence on the basis of race, but remaining silent when the law points its finger at two black Africans.
It makes me wonder if Jussie's defenders were really being all that honest when they cited 'racism', or whether they were simply using whatever means necessary to stand up for a fellow rich and privileged American entertainer.
As a side point, we'll only truly achieve equality and vanquish racism and sexism, when we show the same level of support and concern for black Africans as we do for rich black Americans, and for poor women as we do for rich female actors and politicians.
Yeah, no one actually said he was innocent. He is still guilty.
shareGuilty as T-rump.
shareHow exactly is Trump guilty? Your very own Demoncrap-led committee couldn't find him guilty in the Mueller witch hunt. Now go find a cry space, wah, wah.
shareYour very own Demoncrap-led committee couldn't find him guilty in the Mueller witch hunt.
This man is as innocent as Donald Trump...
shareFalse dichotomy. TDS conspiracy theories aren't the same as the proven facts of the Smollette case.
shareNothing has been definitely proven in either case. Both men have been officially cleared...but those of us with half a brain know that both men are full of shit.
shareNo, no one has been cleared of shit in Smollete case. Fake. Fucking. News.
Your side said the results of the Mueller probe must be accepted.
Accept them.
I do, but bullshit still smells like bullshit.
I'll 'accept' Trump and Smollett's 'innocence' because it would be silly to keep hammering a line that won't amount to anything, but on a balance of evidence I still have my legitimate doubts about both men.
Nothing has been definitely proven in either case. Both men have been officially cleared...but those of us with half a brain know that both men are full of shit.
No, because I don't have any power to prosecute either Trump or Smollett and cause them any real harm as a consequence of my doubts.
And I'm not saying that I definitively know that either man is guilty. I don't. And I think both men are entitled to be treated as innocent from a legal perspective. But on a balance of evidence, I have my doubts, as I do about Justice Kavanaugh.
You don't need any power to prosecute anyone and cause real harm to be of the mindset 'guilty until proven innocent'. That's absolutely ridiculous.
But your words are:
Nothing has been definitely proven in either case. Both men have been officially cleared...but those of us with half a brain know that both men are full of shit.
Not sure why you're picking a fight with me here.
A bit bizarre since I have expressed doubts over a liberal, Jussie Smollett, and a conservative/fascist, Donald Trump.
Is this really the fight you want?!?
Absolutely f***ing bizarre...
No fight intended. No politics mentioned. Just befuddled by what you’re claiming , as it is bizarre.
shareAll I'm claiming is that irrespective of what law enforcement agencies and investigators conclude, the general public is entitled to its own opinion. I'm sure that you will not stop doubting Trump's 'innocence', just because it appears that Trump has been cleared by Mueller, and that is your legitimate entitlement.
For what it's worth, I have my doubts about Trump and Smollett, even if the evidence to prosecute either man does not reach the necessary threshold for indictment.
He isn't innocent and we are actually owed a federal investigation.
Black privilege is now real. Gay privilege too.
White wealthy privilege, too. You get to hand pick the Attorney General who will give a 'book report' on a special investigation, and not release the findings of that investigation.
shareHe wasn't found not guilty. It was a plea deal that got the charges dropped.
And there's still the matter of that faked threat that I believe the FBI is looking into.
