I posted this because the OP wondered about it. What puzzles me, is why people are so curious about sexual preferences of celebrities. I don't judge the fact that they are curious about it, but I wonder why people take the effort to know, since it doesn't directly influence the craftmanship of an actor/actress.
By the way: now that I read my previous comment again, I realize that I should've put it differently: his, or the preference of anybody else, doesn't matter (if the work they do doesn't have the quality that requires it).

Yes, but the imdb site isn't just about the actors' skill and craftsmanship; all kinds of topics related to any given actor is discussed, like when people post about their wives,children, current lover,divorce,children,etc. I don't know why it would puzzle you. Another reason is because heterosexuality is the majority of people,so homosexuality is naturally going to be a curiosity factor. It's not a negative thing.
