I know he has English-speaking roles, but I wonder if he actually speaks the language.
The reason why I ask is because ever since I saw him on LOST, the way he delivers his lines sounds like he's just saying the words. It doesn't sound like he actually understands what he's saying.. if that makes sense.
I think he must. His English is beautifully melodious, and not in a way that makes it sound to my ears like he doesn't understand.

shareYes he speaks english..lol japanses usually have a very harsh like exterior when speaking if they are from japan. My husband is full }apanese and I tease him about being very robotic like.. itks their personality and manner like traits..of course not all are like that, but i would say about 80% of them are..i gre up around many Asians especially japanese from abroad.
