Not sure why he went from rising star to tv

I was so optimistic about this guy ever since I saw superman, I thought it would skyrocket his career.but then it went from that to small movies and then a tv show.
Isn't it supposed to go from small movies,
Tv then big show? Hopefully he will go big again soon, to the ranks of michael fassbender or clooney.

there were a lot of rumors about him back then about being gay, apparently it was on a yahoo article and there was a picutre of him with a man and it said that they were partners.
that same year he married his wife now and had a kid with her, the fact that he was a rising star and got married suddenly probably ruined his chances. remember the beatles were often told to keep their private lives secret because they didnt want the fans to lose interest? its just human nature, i dont say these because i actually agree with all of that. not like these fans have a chance with him anyway,
gay straight married or single.

the movie also tanked for some reason, superman series i think cater to comic book fans, and they probably didnt agree with brian singers rendition of it. i personally enjoyed it and i dont understand why we had to get henry cavill. henry is fine but i really prefer brandon routh.

hopefully we can get input from a comic fan here.

As a gigantic Superman fan the film was a huge letdown, but it had nothing to do with Routh. He was perfect. The story was an outdated mess of Superman 1 and 2 ideas and silver age stuff that simply doesn't play now. Spacey's Lex Luthor was written as the old, outdated joke of a character, and he's absolutely nothing like that now, and hasn't been since the '80s. Superman had no villains to fight, and that's kind of a big no-no in a superhero film. And the super-kid idea with Lois was just terrible all around. The script didn't serve Superman in the slightest, and it's a shame. Routh could still be playing Superman if the movie had a proper script.

But hey, he's got a regular gig as The Atom now, and that's cool.

I have no doubt that he is gay. The straight charade just does not suit him. He has done enough gay work (posing in magazines and websites) that no straightee would. Let us know when you have come back from the 70s and that era's sterotypes. "posing in magazines is gay durh". "fake marriage"? These days, you can only be sure about someone's sexuality by sleeping with him. You haven't and you never will. Yes, you are allowed to dream. But don't expect people to take you seriously anymore.

Dream on, in your own little corner.

He seems to have steady work, which is a win in my book. He is by no means unsuccessful.

TV in todays world is not a demotion. Films are tougher than ever. The work he is getting on Arrow and the upcoming legends of Tomorrow is better than most film roles he was Getting post Superman returns
