Watching 'American Experience' doc on Woodstock.

Wavy Gravy was the kooky guy dressed in white jumpsuit in the movie.

Just learned that he and a hippie commune acting team were actually security at the venue.

I always wondered why there were no uniform guards at Woodstock.

Uniformed guards would have been the antithesis of what Woodstock was all about. Everyone pretty much trusted everyone else there. That doesn't seem possible from today's viewpoint, but it was possible then.
