Remaking LET THE RIGHT ONE IN was a disaster, so...

Wow! He obviously doesn't have an original bone in his body. THEY LIVE was fairly cheesy. And, I'll be honest, I welcome remakes of bad films. I was very opposed to the remake of LET THE RIGHT ONE IN. The LET ME IN fanboys are easily the worst on the IMDB. The original was perfect. And while I eventually did see Reeves' film, I held out for a very long time. I did see it, and I gave an honest review (for which I was attacked). I admitted I was against the film up front. I did find some pros, but overall I felt the film was simply an American copy of a foreign film. And a copy of a copy is inferior.

For the record, I was against THE DEPARTED as well. infernal affairs is a superior film. You'll never convince me otherwise.

As far as Matt Reeves goes... he's fallen so far off the map because of LET ME IN tanking he has no choice but to remake a horror film now. This will bomb and then his buddy (JJ) will throw him a bone when no one else in town will hire him. Reeves' best (and only) talent = being friends with JJ Abrams

LET THE RIGHT ONE IN was ALL RIGHT. It wasn't the be-all end-all of vampire films. It wasn't even that original. Anne Rice wrote about child vampires and their angst years before a moody Swedish film charmed the pants off of a bunch of hipsters.

LET ME IN wasn't perfect but neither was the original. They're both pretty average films in my opinion.

Your opinion on THE DEPARTED alone makes my brain hurt. And by the way "you'll never convince otherwise" is the sure sign of an atrophied mind: dogmatic, stubborn thinking.

THEY LIVE sucked balls. Big ones. Even John Carpenter fans admit this. Not that it matters...Reeves is actually adapting the short story "Eight O'Clock in the Morning" from which THEY LIVE was adapted from. Do your research.

It's funny to see the LTROI fanboys trolling both Reeves' page as well as the LMI forums calling the LMI fans "the worst fanboys on IMBD".

I've seen both films, and enjoyed both films. Granted, I saw LMI first and thought it was better.... but I don't troll the LTROI boards saying the Swedish film sucks. I see more LTROI fanboys b!tching about LMI more than the other way around.

As a John Carpenter fan (My fav director), I don't think a remake of They Live needs to be done. But, given the fact that my two favorite films (one being Carpenter's own), The Thing & Let Me In are both remakes..... I can't really complain about films being remade anymore.

Let The Right One In is my favourite film and I must congratulate Reeves for Let Me In. It is a fantastic film that almost tops the original in my eyes and was able to distinguish itself enough that the existence of both is fantastic.
Nice to see someone who prefers LTROI that doesn't hate on Let Me In. I personally prefer Let Me In, but I love both movies.

Also, isn't your signature from Lost In Translation? Lol

Yep. It's amazing that LMI fans get called "trolls" by LTROI fans who camp out on that board. LTROI fans sure go to a lot of trouble to be in a position to be "trolled".

Funny to read the OP now with the glowing reviews coming in for Planet of the Apes.
