What Daniel does with all his money.

Call him the Boy Who Saved.

Daniel Radcliffe has made an estimated £74 million (equal to about $94 million USD, based on the current exchange rate) since taking on the eponymous role in the blockbuster “Harry Potter” franchise. That probably doesn’t come as a surprise, given the eight movies in that series alone have raked in close to $8 billion worldwide.

But you may be surprised to learn that the 27-year-old British actor has, well, been hoarding his money in Gringott’s.

“I don’t really do anything with my money,” Radcliffe told the Belfast Telegraph in late September. He went on to put forth a compelling argument for why he decided to save it.

“I’m very grateful for it, because having money means you don’t have to worry about it, which is a very lovely freedom to have,” Radcliffe said. “It also gives me immense freedom, career-wise … For all the people who’ve followed my career, I want to give them something to be interested in, rather than them just watch me make loads of money on crap films for the rest of my life.”

He also gives back by contributing to many charities that he believes in.

As most people do.

The thrust of the story is about him saving his money for long-term security instead of going on spending sprees like many (most?) young people who find themselves instantly famous and filthy rich. Many of them buy very expensive cars, very expensive mansions, take their friends on obscenely expensive vacation trips, things like that. But Harry Potter has a frugal head on his shoulders and isn't letting his wealth spoil who he is.

All these articles from one sentence where he said nothing. Do people seriously expect him to discuss his financial plans with entertainment reporters? The whole thing is incredibly intrusive - how people seem to think they are entitled to find out anything and everything. He should just close that company in UK so that people are not so nosy.

I think it's fine for stars to have transparency with finances, it's not like Dan is a tax evader like some people (ahem), but I do agree it's intrusive and vulgar to discuss earnings.

Do you have any talents?
Well, I'm an Alcoholic.
