OK, how many watched the coronation?!
I just watched it,first one in my lifetime! Good luck to Charles and Camilla. I wish Harry had been allowed to at least read a bible verse or something, despite the strained relations.

shareIs he healthy? Did you see his fingers? Looked so bloated, like sausages. Maybe should go back to the vegetarian diet?
shareI watched the highlights.
shareI tuned in a few minutes before midday just in time to see the actual crowning, but I apparently missed the "oiling" Charles underwent beforehand. I then stayed watching for the next two hours or so to see the rest of the service and the procession of the military, but turned off before the balcony greetings and the flypast.
I was actually cringing during the actual placing of the crown on his head, seems the bearer had to adjust it a couple of times. In fact, I was waiting for a slight mishap of any kind.
I'm in my sixties, and there hasn't been an internationally televised coronation since long before I was born!
So I'm watching it now... just for the rarity value.
I wasn't going to but it was on at bedtime so watched it until they started with the Communion. Wonder what was told to him when they had the secret oil anointing? The British nuclear launch codes, Area 51 is real, Dianna is alive and well living with Elvis in Las Vegas?
shareThe oil anointing was interesting. That was touching where William kissed his dad, but damn did both look depressed. LOl, if he had to kiss Camilla! I bet William felt "When hell freezes over"!
shareWrong. William and Camilla have a warm relationship. He kissed her in public last year, when he greeted her at the Commonwealth Service. It’s on video.

Well he came around. Considering I heard Harry threw confetti at their wedding, I figured he had at least civil feelings regarding his stepmom. I guess I was wrong considering his memior. According to some reports, Camilla defended Harry a few times in his youth. But I understand his side too. She wrecked havoc on his beloved mom. Some people never accept step parents anyway.
sharenot near as many as watched the old black and white version of Elizabeth's some how this old man should have just let it pass on to one of his sons it was sad
sharethe whole time I was watching i was like "this is only gonna last a few years". Cause of his age. And then we have to do it all over again. They're already hyping up the adorable new Princess of Wales. She's a cutie.
shareI saw it on livestream on youtube. Was fascinating to see, and I recognized a number of artifacts they used during the ceremony, such as that ancient throne with the Stone of Scone under it, the scepter with the Star of Africa in it, the crown with the Black Prince's Ruby on the front, and 200-year-old carriage parked outside after the event. (One thing they like to talk about in geology books when it comes to gemstones are the British Royal Jewels).
Catherine looked so pretty with that silver and crystal flower and leaf headdress, and Charlotte looked adorable in her complimentary getup. It was very touching to see William swearing allegiance to his dad and giving him a quick kiss. I noticed Camilla had two cute little dogs embroidered on the hem of her dress. I wonder if she has real ones like that? The kids were very well-behaved, and Prince George looked very grown-up in his red page coat while helping to carry grandpa's robe.
The voiceover people on PBS joked the the RF were the driest people in the parade, considering it was pouring. It seems England's weather lives up to its reputation, regardless of what's going on.
Since my parents slept through the event, I replayed the video on youtube for them yesterday, and it was great being able to fast-forward to the good parts.
Same here regarding watching on YT.
