Used to be that being part of the Commonwealth meant protection by the British military on top of whatever resources each member had. I appreciate the sentiment but how many aircraft carriers, fighter jets, and long range missiles does Canada have?

Canada abandoned its military because its proximity to the U.S. provides free security and no border risk. Canada is completely incapable of what it did as a major world power in WWII. Today it is lucky if it can put three submarines to sea simultaneously.
