Bravura performance in Gone Girl

If Portman can win for Black Swan and Bates for Misery, than Pike should be able to win for Gone Girl, genre or no genre.

She was incredible. So many layers to her character and Rosamund showcased them all perfectly.

You're right, if Portman can win then so can Pike! She was 1000x better

I wasn't a huge fan of the book, but I thought she nailed this character and made me engage in the story again. I hope we see a lot more of her.

Hey don't hate on Natalie Portman in Black Swan! She was great in that movie and deserved a win (even if some people did deserve it a bit more) Rosie is fantastic in this film, and, having seen Julianne Moore in Still Alice, I can firmly state that she will not win the Oscar. She deserves to win, but Julianne Moore simply turned in the better performance. But I do agree that she was layered and completely stole the screen from Ben Affleck every second they had a scene together. Hell, she stole the screen from pretty much everyone! And the way that she truly sunk into the character of Amy Dunne post-death-faking at the hotel place truly demonstrates what a chameleon she is. My dream performance from her would be like an angry, venomous housewife with under-the-surface anger who spews brilliant and devastating lines at people. Maybe directed by a Roman Polanski (almost like Carnage but good) or something. I can't wait for more great directors to discover her!! Rosamund Pike FTW!!!!
