It is frustrating.
Her performance in Gone Girl is phenomenal. One of the best and most memorable performances of the year. A performance that will be remembered and marked as similar characters should be interpreted. And yet it is not recognized with awards as it should be. It is similar to when Jeff Bridges won over Colin Firth when the latter was nominated for A Single Man. At least Colin Firth won the following year and deservedly so.
