shareI was hoping she does too, but after watching the results for the Golden Globes, the Critic's Choice and the SAG awards. I'm not worried about it anymore, because there is absolutely no way she will get the Oscar this year. Julianne Moore will, so meh.
shareYeah it's a big letdown . Julianne Moore is good , but nowhere near the same caliber as pikes skills .
shareYea. Nobody can quite make bug eyes and overact quite like her.
shareShe was fantastic, Moore and Pike gave amazing stand out performances this year.
Julianne Moore's performance was heartbreaking and raw which generally attract the awards.
Whereas Pike's was so versatile, very calm and cold and just a whole different genre to what Moore did.
It's hard to compare the two but for just how dynamic and magnetising Rosamund was on screen I hope she wins.
I predict, like just about everyone else, that Julianne Moore will win for Still Alice, and it is very well deserved.
However, Rosamund Pike gave the best performance (male or female) of this year IMHO, however I will still be very happy for Julianne Moore who also gave an even greater performance then the one she did in Still Alice in Maps to the Stars.
You're insane for thinking Pike was Oscar-worthy. Thank heavens sense prevailed and a proper performance won (not necessarily Moore's career best, but a fine, complex performance nonetheless). The academy were fools for nominating Pike, but I suppose some credit is due to them for not nominating the trashy movie for best film, director, and screenplay like the Globes did.
