The person telling me to believe that someone without a Y chromosome is male is telling me to brush up on my science. Good Grief.
And please knock it off with the woke buzzwords already. All you are doing is proving you can't think for yourself. I am not being "transphobic." A phobia -- from Greek -phobia "panic fear of," itself derived from phobos "fear" -- is an anxiety disorder: a persistent and excessive fear of an object or situation. Nobody denying that Ellen/Elliot Page is a biological male is afraid of Ellen/Elliot Page. We simply aren't prepared to agree to let a bunch of radical activists rewrite objective, physical reality.
If Ellen Page wants to change her name to Elliot, ask people to use the pronouns he/him/his, get a double mastectomy and live life as man, I'm the last person in the world who would attempt to interfere. It's a free country, do whatever makes you happy, as long as you're not hurting anyone else. And no one should be victimized, discriminated against, or persecuted for doing what they want (again, provided it's not hurting anyone else).
But don't ask me -- and you will not force me -- to stop living in the real world in order to indulge you. People have an obligation to show tolerance and treat you decently, they are not obligated to validate you. If you want to indulge in a fantasy, go ahead. If that's what makes you happy, I'm glad you found what does that for you. Truly. But reality remains what it is, I am not going to pretend otherwise, and I will only humor you to the extent that it doesn't affect my freedom and happiness, or that of others. That means if you are transgender, and want me to treat you like a man when you were born a woman... I'll probably indulge you out of simple politeness and a desire to avoid unnecessary trouble. That doesn't mean that I buy into the idea. And the instant you try to coerce or compel me... well, now we've got a problem.
