As for Thor, I believe he mentioned that he was one of many actors up for the role but his commitment to Supernatural basically took him out of the running. It's why he doesn't often do films (and when he does they have to be ones that have a shorter shooting schedule, like horror flicks). No time on hiatus breaks.

When I first watched Thor I thought Jared would have been a good Loki; the younger brother who knew he didn't fit in with the family. Honestly I didn't like the first movie, but then I really liked Avengers and Dark World. The actors really gelled with their characters and are perfect for the roles
