She really is, it's just a shame that she's apparently a bitch. Doesn't take away from how positively raw her performances are though, she's always brilliant and real.

Samantha Morton showed a lot of promise in Movies like Minority Report, In America and others. She supposedly suffered mental and physical health problems and has gained weight and looks awful now. I really liked her and I hope she can pull herself together.

"Looks awful" is a bit harsh. She definitely doesn't look like she did early in her career, people forget that she was pretty good looking woman in her young years (her daughter looks a lot like her during her early run). Health problems, been a mother of a few kids and maybe just not giving damn for what she looks like is probably has a lot to do with it.
shareShame illness mental and physical and some bad rep on set with other talent has probably stopped her career in it's tracks as a lead in Hollywood films. For a while in the late 90's and early 00's, she was legit one of the best actresses around. She's recently got a part on Walking Dead, maybe a bit past it's peak but it could put her back on the map. She's only 42 and is still young to make a comeback to the heights of her early career.
But that early run was something else, That TV series Band of Gold she was excellent in, Under The Skin, Sweet And Lowdown (got a Oscar nod), Jesus Son, Morvern Callar, Minority Report, In America, Code 46, Enduring Love and The Libertine. That run from 96 to 2004 had a few clunkers but it's definitely held her best work as a actress. But after that she had some good work still in there, Longford, Control, Synecdoche New York, Cosmoplis and The Messenger. She's more into the TV worker in the last few years.
She's not had a bad career at all, but probably only did in patches and not on a constant basis probably down to Illness and her rumored bad rep on set. But she's a talent for sure.
I hated her performance in minority report, she was such an overacting mess, that it was over the top annoying and unbelievable, she detracted from every scene. I don’t understand why anyone saw it as a good performance and not grossly overdone but to each there own I suppose.
