will he be going barefoot into the afterlife?

I was slightly familiar with him long before Mad Men, and thought he was an amusing choice for the role he portrayed on the show. But I know very little about his career. Maybe a theater-lifer? Seems like there is a Broadway tradition when someone of note passes away, and I'm sure it's being observed in many locales.

Yes, he did do a lot of theater and won a couple of Tony Awards. He was well known for "Mad Men," too.

I remember him from a short-lived TV series called "That's Life" (1968-69). That show presented like a short Broadway musical play about a couple, how they met, got married, had a baby, etc. The show was also known for having quite a few well-known guess actors in one-time roles.

Rest in Peace, Mr Morse. 🌹

I remember him from the runs and re-runs of "How To Succeed At Business" on the TV. I never liked the movie. But his modern image would be from Mad Men for most I think, so I went with that. It was actually a great character. Whimsical and light-hearted, but could really slam the hammer down when the character demanded ... that's hard to portray and Morse did it superbly.
