I wonder if any single actor has ever had a one-year run like Thomas Mitchell in 1939? As well as his Oscar-winning performance in Stagecoach, he also had significant roles in Gone with the Wind, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Only Angels Have Wings and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Five acknowledged classics all within one year!
