The best White Male Singer in my opinion

When I sing, there are two voices I try to emulate. A little of Michael Jackson, and a little of George. What he had was amazing lungs. He has so much breath. I wish I had that lung capacity.

He also had a gift to hit notes with ease and stay on pitch. His live performances are on par with the CD version.

Add to that the fact that he could write and produce and you realise what a talent he was.

George is in my top 10 best singers. He had an incredible voice.

Lol! Apparently you deaf mutes never heard Sinatra, Mel Torme, Jack Jones, and even Michael Buble. All three
of them were incomparably better singers than this dude. And so was Elton John, David Bowie...the list is endless.

Michael co-wrote some pleasant 80's puff, and a had a pleasant, high-pitched voice. But Johnny Mathis he wasn't.

Oh, that's right...you were talking about WHITE singers. No matter the color, he was a pleasant pop '80's singer.

Nothing more.

I think you're tone deaf. Bublé is 100% autotune. He sounds terrible. Like a robot.

I don't think you've listened to very much of what George Michael did. He had one of the most remarkable singing voices of all time. Frank Sinatra is certainly among the greatest of all time, though I wouldn't include the others you listed among the all-time greats. Truth be told, I'd describe Torme the way you described Michael-- a pleasant pop singer. David Bowie is at the very top of my overall, all-time favorite singer/performer/band list, but his voice isn't what puts him there. He's great, but not George Michael or Frank Sinatra great. Elton John has a booming voice that has mellowed into a wonderful baritone over the years, but I don't think he's on par with those two, either. George Michael had a rare, wonderful voice that I believe once you truly listen to, you'll have to acknowledge is far better than you're giving it credit for being.

How was it incredible? (meaning, unbelievable, impossible, improbable) about it?
Even Jack Jones' theme version of the The Love Boat Tv series was more powerful, evocative and modulated than any song Michael sang. Back it up a decade or two, away from the the 1980's MTV lightweights. And the overrated Michael Jackson had an average voice hyped by fame and sensation (along with his onstage prancing-shenanigans).

I prefer Boy George, if we're talking contemporaries.

reply

His vocal ability isn't that impressive.

reply

I like George a lot, but to me its Daryl Hall.

Marvin Gaye
