A cool, talented performer passes away at a young age, shocking fans on a global scale and there are only two posts on his page Come On?! What were some of your favorite Wham or solo GM songs? I like " Jesus For A Child, "Father Figure", and Careless Whisper" to name a few. He also did get covers of "The Long and Winding Road"and Sexual Healing". NTM, he was a decent dancer. May he RIP!
Well he never did make a film, so I'm not surprised there aren't many posts about George Michael here.
I did like Wham! alot, and my favourite Wham! songs were Young Guns, Last Christmas and Club Tropicana. GM's solo stuff, I guess Careless Whisper, Freedom and Faith are my favourites, from the top of my head.
True. I guess I'm so use to the old IMDB format. On IMDB, his page would be flooded with posts and tributes. I have been listening to some of his lesser known songs. I was never a diehard fan, but enjoyed his tunes. It is hard to realize that 4 top music icons of my generation are gone, while only in their 50's! Besides GM, there's Whitney, MJ, and Prince.
Since it only came out last month, you might have to wait awhile. I'm waiting for the DVD version, it does sound interesting. Hard to believe in a few weeks, the world will be celebrating the 1 year anniversary of his demise.
His homosexuality meant that people were a fan of his music, but not necessarily of him. The world doesn't show much outpouring for homosexuals, especially when they die of AIDs (not that George did, but he did seem to die strangely). It is because we celebrate someone's life in death and people don't want to partake in that celebration. My theory anyway.
As for me, I'd only just watched one of his live DVD concerts the day before his death, so when I got the news, it was very weird as I had just been thinking that I hoped his health would recover and he could perform again. But he was ageing very badly and ashamed of his appearance. He became a recluse. Very sad.
He was a fucking liar.
I went to Club Tropicana (it's on Ibiza ) in 1986. It was £10 (2000 pesetas) to get in and drinks most definitely were not free. It was £5 (1000 pesetas) for half a lager (around £0.7 in the UK at that time or 140 pesetas if you like).
So fuck him!
