A review of Jason Mewes' THE MAKING OF TUSK

Watching the MAKING OF TUSK may be a lot like being sewn inside a patchwork walrus suit with your tongue cut out and your four limbs partially amputated. The 2014 TUSK disc does NOT provide the nearly-universal "Play All" option for viewing the 14 segments hosted by Jason Mewes and cumulatively clocking in at more than 51 minutes. It also does NOT automatically advance from the part you've just watched to the next part on the two-page DVD menu. Therefore, it requires 28 commands to view just ONE "Making Of" by Mr. Mewes. While it may be possible for you or I to navigate all this, given enough patience, just think of how unnecessarily challenging (in a 19th Century sort of way) it would be for ALS patients such as Stephen Hawking, who may just want to relax with a stimulating "Making Of" after a hard day's breathing! Even for we able-bodied, this unforgiving format forces its captive audience to sit through the same lame opening and closing montages, including TUSK writer\director Kevin Smith's cursing, 14 times! While this may be just peachy for residents of pot-friendly states such as Colorado and Washington, why shoiuld the rest of us have to choose between enduring this "Making Of" sober, or tolerating it by ILLEGALLY entering La-La Land? Is this all a CONSCIOUS effort by Mr. Mewes to force viewers to identify with Justin Long's ill-fated TUSK character?
