Loved him in Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom. This is the best Crime Drama I have seen in a while. A female character in power*(Jacki Weaver's character)*definitely offers a different dynamic from the more typical crime family. Such great character development too. Very impressed with David Michôd in his feature film debut. It would be tough for Jacki Weaver to win an Oscar for this role given her opposition, but I hope she at least gets the nomination, as she did at the Golden Globes. *

Animal Kingdom is an excellent film. Anyone thinking about watching should most definitely do so. Just released on DVD & Bluray in the US fyi.

Can't says I loved 'Pope' quite the opposite
as the movie moved along I became more and more
creeped out by the dude.

But I will say Mendelsohn's work in this film is as impressive
as any actor's I've ever seen.

I don't think 'magnificent' would be an over-statement.
His acting here is seriously "real" to the point that seeing
him in an interview about the film I was actually kinda taken
aback that he seemed - was - quote unquote "normal."

You're right about ' Animal Kingdom '. It's a terrific film. It was kind of a tossup for me as to who was better; Ben or Jacki. In the end, I gave a slight edge to Jacki. She was the AntiChrist squared. Guy Pearce was also excellent. You should check out ' Once Were Warriors ', if you haven't already seen it. It's another outstanding film from Down Under.

Have you ever seen ' Once Were Warriors '? It's not a gangster film, but it's one of the best from ' Down Under ' that I've ever seen. In fact, the performance by Rena Owen may be the best I've ever seen by an [ actress ].
