Australian Sam Rockwell and vise versa

They kind of remind of each other. Can't quite put my finger on it, but they kind of choose similar roles and/or kind of act out their characters with a touch of similarity, some kind of special intensity. Especially after watching Animal Kingdom. Everytime I see one of them in a film I instantly think of the other and how he would been as that character, and that it probably often would have worked well for both of them playing that role. They should play a pair of psychopath brothers or something. Both great actors.

Also maybe because they're both short and have a huge resume, albeit small minor roles among fairly good roles.

Both have tremendous presence and charisma. Both have a 'knack' for elevating the standard of a project with their presence. Both have a tendency to overshadow all co-stars, to make the biggest impact, leave the most significant impression.

That's what it is.

I'm hard pressed to name someone who I believe is better than Sam Rockwell, however I do think that Ben Mendelsohn is better. I really do believe that Ben is one of the best living actors in the whole world.
