Yes, Benny has a smarmy sort of charm. I'm certain that's why he is often cast as shady men. There is also something very endearing about him. Even though he plays a lot of bastards you still feel empathy for his characters. He is somehow relatable. I felt kind of bad for Krennic in 'Rouge'. An outsider who has worked hard to climb and claw his way up the Empire's ladder, but no matter how big his contribution he is never quite accepted or respected. We all love an underdog. Even when he is a genocidal nut.
