Gone too soon.

I still can't believe he's gone.
The Young Ones was very much a part of my teens and I can still quote huge chunks of it.

reply

He was an incredibly gifted talent Dazed.

Also #TeamLiz

reply

Do you remember Kevin Turvey by any chance?

reply

I didn't catch him the first time round but I have seen some of the stuff on YouTube.

Hilarious!

Reminded me of that story that Shartbomb wrote about Carrots and his Prometheos and adult diaper.

reply

I never really found Shartbomb funny.
He was a meh character.

reply

I think he may have been Scalvador's.

As for Carrots...I'm thinking he could be Croft now.

reply

I used to think Croft HAD to be someone's invention but he has kept it up for 18 months now and across several other forums. Genius or actually tragic?
He sometimes forgets he's not supposed to speak English well and founders over the history of his alleged country.

reply

I felt the same about my Bobby and I still do.

He's just not resurfaced in a way I can tell by the looks of it.

Pick'n'Mix and Woolies days are all for nowt now!

Maybe the new Doctor will bring him out of hiding.

I want to know what's going on with his local library and Tospy Turvy's snack bar!

reply

I'm pretty sure your obvious affection for Bobby is nothing like how I feel about Croft.
But I'm sure Bobby is somewhere and yes maybe the new doctor will root him out.
When is that happening?

reply

August I believe.

The Beeb keep shifting the Doctor further and further back in their schedules - it's like real like time travel for them.

I hope Bobby comes back too, it's not the same without talking about roller coasters and the Beano around here.

I'm sorry Croft doesn't bring out that same notion in you Dazed. It's a fine balancing act to pull it off well I reckon.

reply

You think he's trolling?

reply

I know he's trolling Dazed.

It just doesn't work otherwise.

No bad thing, just a little bit obvious is all (For me at least).

We have that on dvd.
My favourite bottom moment is Paul Bradley (I think) wallpaper to the ceiling.
And of course Vodka Margarine!

reply

Never heard of The Young Ones, googled it just now. I really like British sitcoms, bet this is a fun watch :) Thanks for bringing this to my attention Dazed.

reply

It really shook up British tv at the time. Sitcoms were mostly about middle class couples getting into awkward situations, all good stuff I hasten to add. This was something different and for young people.

You're welcome, I hope you enjoy it and it you do you could also check out Bottom and The Comic Strip. Have you seen Red Dwarf?

reply

I haven't seen Red Dwarf, what is that?

reply

A brilliant British Comedy based in space. Another to check out of you get a chance.
