The show killed the books. Pass on any new stuff.
Apart from that the books having gotten significantly worse in progression, the whole of Westeros is toxic now. I just don't care about it anymore.
shareNot to mention that the author writes at a snail's pace as looks like he's gonna croak any time now. Chances are very high he's gonna croak before his books are done, and I wonder if "Winds of Winter" and "A Dream of Spring" would have been any better than the last few seasons of the tv show. I'm hoping his vision was very different from the creeps who did such a horrible job finishing the show.
