This Man Is A Fine Actor
The guy inhabits his roles. I’m ashamed to admit that I don’t recall every film in which I’ve seen him, but, when I have seen him, I recognize him after a bit and think, “He’s one of those folks who are always good.” I know him as Terry on Ray Donovan, where his simulation of Parkinson’s Disease is heartbreaking, and as the manager in The Prestige, where he is as convincingly educated and suave as he is working-class Boston when he is Terry Donovan. He lacks the looks and stature of a leading man, but my impression is that he’s known that all along and has worked his ass off to be entertaining as a first-rank character actor, no small feat. I say good on him!
