Brilliant Texan accent from Scotland's Kelly MacDonald.

I hope this opens doors for her in Hollywood. She got the Texan accent down to a tee. A view endorsed by none other that Tommy Lee Jones.

She's a great actress.

Why the hostility? Were you this bent out of shape when Renée Zellweger (a Texan) played a British character? Maybe they auditioned girls from West Texas, and Kelly Macdonald was better than all of them at portraying the character. Also, why do you call her a 'moron'? It sounds like your irritation should be directed towards the filmmakers in charge of casting, not the actress. Finally, whether or not she's attractive shouldn't matter unless she's portraying a character who is meant to be attractive. (Although I must admit that I disagree with you here as well.)

I'm from further east (in the U.S.) than Texas but she fooled me. I was really surprised to find out she was scottish. Also, she's hot.

... while I would agree on the "Preference" of having Texans-playing-Texans + Scots-playing-Scots Etc. , I would have to say that Kelly MacDonald did a Fine Job as the Texas-Hillbilly Girl.
