Typical fanboy (or fangirl) BWE is a good show in spite of Kelly Macdonald. Why would I stop watching a show I like just because of one actress I don't? That being said her parts are annoying, she wears way too much emotion on her sleeve and it's so painfully obvious to everyone what she's feeling except the cast. She has that same, Oh no worried look on her face throughout the entire series.

You should spend a little more time trying to figure out how to reconnect your braincells instead of worrying about someone else's.

I've never seen Boardwalk Empire. More than likely, that's probably the only thing you've ever seen her in. Have you seen Trainspotting, Stella Does Tricks, Two Family House, Strictly Sinatra, The Girl in the Cafe, Tristram Shandy, Nanny McPhee, No Country For Old Men, The Merry Gentleman, In the Electric Mist, Choke? I have. I seriously doubt that you have. I would imagine that her character would've been written out of the series if they didn't like her acting style. She may very well be a good actress, but in BWE inparticular, she always has the same look on her face.
