Will she become a-lister?
It would be nice if so. Perhaps work with Alexandre Aja or Darren Aronofsky?

shareAfter Boardwalk Empire - she's on her way to the top
shareShe doesn't have to be.
Her career will be like that of Judi Dench or Helen Mirren.
20 years from now, she'll be given the title of Dame Kelly Macdonald by King William. People will look back and notice that she's done an amazing/diversified body of work.
Hollywood will then realize and she'll walk home with an Oscar or two for the quality parts that she's always done.
She's had the weirdest of career trajectories... getting a big break in "Trainspotting", then disappearing (apart from various arthouse obscurities such as "Stella Does Tricks") until "Gosford Park", then disappearing until "No Country for Old Men"... then she gets herself a leading role in a top US series....

It's not "sci-fi", it's SF!
Well she will be a character in HPATDH Part II as well as the voice of the lead in the next Pixar film.
"HOPSCOTCH!"
lets hope so. we need to see more of her.

I'm pretty sure she has a steady income and enough $.
Imagine your very first movie, being one of the greatest films ever made! I have a soft spot for this woman.
Stella Does Tricks was also pretty damn good, too.
Unlike many starlets, she seemed to have a reasonable head on her shoulders and not the kind of vapid, attention-seeking narcissistic personality so many others have. So she probably has made enough money combined with a normal enough lifestyle that she can afford to be choosy about her roles.
As for A-list status, doesn't she mostly have it by now, at least in terms of being a good actress, even if not as a glamour-leading-lady type, which she doesn't really seem to be.
