No More Cameos

Is this true? I've heard he's stop doing the Comic-Con circuit and signing autographs as well. Is he ready to retire?

reply

Haven't heard anything about that but if it's true I'd say retiring at age 95 is admirable, most people don't even live that long.

reply

Would any of his superheroes retire at 95? I think not.
Besides, he doesn't look a day over 93. I expect to be at work on time each morning or I'm petitioning to rescind his AARP benefits.

All I can say is google the story....it is beyond bizarre and a little heart breaking.

Marvel movies didn't start getting good until Stan's control of production lightened (Iron Man). He would show up during production and throw his weight around and generally insist that things be his way (a sour, goofy way). Then he aged enough to step back and the fans in control were generous enough to him to perpetuate his more known image in the form of cool cameos. He is lucky. And it turns out was also wise enough to recognize what he had been doing was not working. He stepped back and let more qualified people steer the ship.

I only heard that he was stopping public appearances/signings. I did not hear that he was done with cameos. It has long been my belief that they filmed dozens of little scenes with him so that he could cameo well after his departure.

Please, Lord, no!

It looks like his most recent was in Venom, does anyone know if there are any further coming?

reply

He unexpectedly (to me) showed up in Venom and it was wonderful. Eager to see if he’ll be in Into the Spider-Verse.

Anyway, word is he had filmed a lot of cameos for future movies, so you can be sure he’ll be popping up in the Marvel film universe again. It’s going to be more bittersweet seeing his cameos now.
