shareHe's not faceless. In the extended trailer when blowing up the eiffel tower he has good face time.
shareits not by choice?
shareAnd Rain is the whole star of Ninja Assassin and isn't faceless at all.
shareHe's not a faceless ninja, how about you watch the movie when it comes out and then post a thread. Instead of watching a 30 second trailer of a movie that's 2 hours long and posting a stupid thread.
shareI don't know about faceless, but you're right about the ninja thing. Jeon Ji-Hyun playing a trained vampire assassin in Blood: The Last Vampire. Not exactly a ninja, but still similar in many respects. And also Rain playing a straight up ninja in Ninja Assassin. They even made him do some martial arts moves in Speed Racer lmao.
The only time an actor from South Korea didn't play a ninja of some sort in Hollywood was in The Truth About Charlie. Joong-Hoon Park didn't play a ninja in that one.
Update:
And it also looks like Jang Dong-geun is coming to Hollywood playing yet another Asian warrior in the film "Laundry Warrior". The film also stars Kate Bosworth, Danny Huston, etc.
The trailer is here:

Looks pretty sick, actually.
Well I don't know about the "faceless ninja" comment, but I can say for sure - he is very much in demand by many directors - because he's an extremely talented Korean actor. He's hot property basically.
And it doesn't harm that he's fluent in English and able to speak French and Mandarin, in addition to his native Korean!
